The owner, Gretchen Norman Woody began farming in 1999. She began her stewardship for Organic Farming of mixed vegetable crops on 5-acres at Cedarville Farm and continued to work for the owner, Mike Finger for three consecutive seasons.
While attending college in Bellingham, WA and studying Holistic Healing Arts in Mendocino, California she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Western Washington University in 2003. Gretchen designed her own concentration from Fairhaven College titled, Holistic Homesteading and Sustainable Agriculture.
After graduating and using her BA Degree, Gretchen began working for Dusty Williams at Broadleaf Farm for two growing seasons in 2004 and 2005. She continued to work and live on the farm at Broadleaf while starting her own farm business. In 2005, Gretchen created and developed her farm on leased land based on sustainable and organic agriculture influenced by the philosophy of Holism and Healing Arts.
In her marriage with Jeffrey Woody in 2008, she started her family in the foothills of Mt Baker. Their son, Godrik Orwell Woody is growing up and being raised with the influences of organic agriculture from his mom and exceptional musical talents from his dad.
In 2010, the farm owner purchased land and now manages more than 15-acres. After 13 years of farming experience, Gretchen has established herself and son as dedicated members of their community. She is working as a food producer of Whatcom County and has a strong committed relationship with the land.
The Spring Frog Farm was born when gretchen expanded her business on 15-acres and gained accounts with five (5) Haggen Grocery stores along with accounts at two (2) Community Food Co-Ops, several local restaurants, and the farmers markets.
The Holistic Homestead continues to unfold through education and healing for all ages, communicating with nature beings,balancing with the earth's elements, and attuning to the mysteries of our Universe.

The farm specializes in fresh cut Salad Mix, Strawberries, Heirloom Tomatoes, Peppers, Potatoes, Pumpkin Patch, Flowers, Eggs and Veggie Starts too.
